Chirality Duality (of Existence)

Hey guys! Long time no blog. Life is busy busy busy and its finally, sorta, not really, maybe, almost spring here in Wisconsin so I've been soaking up and rays I can before it gets TOO hot.

BUT! I am so excited to share the full Duality Of Existence collection by Chirality Polish with you! This is a super fun holo/glitter collection named with equally fun references to classic duos. I won't spoil the inspirations for you, you'll have to see if you can figure it out on your own! Just for reference, I 'got' 3 of the 4 pairs.

All photos are shown with 2-3 coats of the holo portion of the duo, and 1ish coat of its glitter counterparts over the top, + 1 coat of top coat

First up is Iceman and Maverick - This is my favorite pair of the collection. I just LOVE the lavender-blue Maverick.

Next up is Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. This is my second favorite duo. Rosencrantz is such a perfect minty green and I loved the chunky glitter combo in Guildenstern.

Next up is To'hajilee and Ozymandias. These are two that I probably would not have purchased but now that I have them I LOVE THEM. They are gorgeous in person! To'hajiilee is my favorite of the pair, its such a gorgeous orange!

Finally, last but not least is A Major Hero and A Weiss Heroine. This one made me think but when I figured it out I totally LOL'd - KUDOS!

A Major Hero - Full Sun (OMG!)

This is going to sound a little silly probably, but this collection really forced me outside of my box. I don't really do a lot of oranges or purples but I was pleasantly surprised - especially by To'hajiilee! These polishes were super easy to apply, required very little clean up, and even in mini bottles the glitter worked very well.

Chirality is available here in full and mini sizes. Full sizes for this collection are $12 each for the holo polishes, and $8 each for the glitter ones.

Too Cuteicle - Spring Holos!

I am so excited (I mean really, who wouldn't be?) to bring you swatches and a quick review of Too Cuteicle's new SPRING HOLO collection! Its been awhile so I think this was Jess' not so subtle way of telling me that I need to get back to blogging and stop being a bump on a log. FINE. Challenge accepted.

These gorgeous springy polishes, as well as 1 charity polish, are available for PRE-ORDER now through 11:59PM CST on 4/8/2014. Invoices must be paid by 4/10/2014, and will ship out the 11th or 12th for delivery by Easter. The pre-order doc can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1FipyqjmHdzeGCsY3Vwx_sk_ovRruBVKWt2uvOyZcxB0/viewform

First up is one of my favorites from this collection. This is Too Cuteicle's charity polish called The Golden's Rule with $2 from each bottle sold going to HelpingStrays.org, a local no-kill animal shelter in her area. This polish was created to memorialize the recent passing of a couple of our dear friend's Golden Retrievers in completely separate, unrelated events. Its been a tragic start to 2014 ya'll. The Golden's Rule is only available in full size. This is 2 coats of The Golden's Rule, no top coat.

Next up is Basket Grass - a fun, mossy, minty green holo. This one applied best with thin, even coats. This is 3 coats, no top coat.

Next we have Bunny Ears! This is a soft, frosty pink with a gorgeous holo splash. Shown with 2 coats and no top coat.

Next is Midnight Moon. I love this one! It is such a pretty blue. 2 Coats, plus top coat. I've wore this one a few times since I received it.

Last we have, probably my favorite, Enchanted Lagoon! When I think of an enchanted lagoon, I think of this. Its a gorgeous blue-green slightly metallic holo! How amazing would this look paired with Midnight Moon as a gradient!? This is 3 coats plus a top coat.

Over all I really liked this collection. The polishes applied well after a good roll to mix them up. They were not at all streaky despite being just slightly metallic-like, and application was smooth and easy.

Personal: A Tale Of 2 Kitties!

I shared this story on Facebook already but I wanted to put it here as well so that I don't lose it :)

6 years ago we adopted Foxy (the inspiration behind the name Fox Claws) from Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary a no kill sanctuary in northeast Wisconsin. She was one in a litter of 4 fluffy kittens - 2 white and buff, 2 white and orange - with very country themed names (Bobbi Jo, Betty Jo, Billy Jo, etc.) We've often wondered what happened to her siblings, did they grow up with the same habits, or the same attitude? Do they love catnip the way Fox loves it - violently? I mean really, if shes got a catnip toy in her grasp don't try to pet her unless you aren't terribly fond of keeping your hand.

Last night my dear friend Cathleen and I were sitting at the ice cream shop in town talking about her new kitty Shilo and how much Foxy and Shilo look alike. Fox is considered 'buff' and kind of blonde while Shilo is more orange but their markings are so similar, even the rings on their super fluffy tails are the same.

Cathleen adopted Shilo from Happily Ever After when Shilo's previous owners returned her. There is a clause that essentially states that if you adopt an animal from HEA and for whatever reason you need to surrender the animal you agree to return him/her to HEA rather than sticking them in a shelter. So Shilo, who was adopted from HEA as a kitten, was returned to HEA 6 years later and adopted by Cathleen.

Tonight we did some detective work and discovered that Shilo and Foxy's original adoption papers match!! Their birth date (April 2008), first immunization dates, original NAMES (Betty Jo and Bobbi Jo) all match and they have similar microchip numbers!

Cathleen contacted HEA's founder Amanda who helped us confirm that our sweet fluffy kitties are indeed SISTERS! What are the odds?

Happily Ever After relies on volunteers and donations to keep its doors open. Every animal adopted into their furever home opens a spot for another little life to be saved. If you loved our story, please consider making a donation to HEA or your local shelter or no-kill facility. Every dollar counts and is tax deductible. If you prefer not to donate cash take a look at their wishlist.  :)  Foxy and Shilo thank you!

PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS AND BARN ANIMALS! Check with your vet or local shelter for low-cost or free clinics.
