Too Cute-icle - Villainess Trio

...Or at least two of the three LOL!

I have been eagerly awaiting these babies since Jess at Too Cute-icle first posted a sneak peek in one of the nail groups I'm in with her on Facebook! The Villainess Trio was inspired by 3 of Disney's most horrific leading bad girls - Cruella, Ursula and Maleficent. She nailed it, they're awesome! Before we get started I wanted to say that I did receive all 3 of these to swatch and review but my bottle of Cruella was full of glitter floaties so I opted not to review it. Jess has since put a quality note on all listings of Cruella in her shop. There's nothing 'wrong' with it, my bottle just wasn't quite right and I didn't want to put photos up of something without giving her the opportunity to address it.

First up is Ursula! Ursula is a pretty mix of  black and purples hexes and squares with micro white glitter and teeny tiny iridescent shreds in a clear base. I expected this one to by my least favorite ( I don't really care for purples too much) but I was wrong, it is really pretty. The tiny shreds add an unexpected shimmer to this beauty that you can only see on the nail. This is 1 coat of Ursula (2 coats on ring finger) over Sinful Colors 'Candy Coated'

Next up is Maleficent (my fav!) over China Glaze Elephant Walk.  Maleficent is described as a mix of black, purple, pink (more magenta than pink IMO), and green glitter in a clear base. This polish was my favorite from her original promo pics, and I was so excited that it lived up to my expectations in person. The green takes this polish to another level, its SOO fun!  This is one coat on ring, middle, pinky and 2 coats on ring finger.

These polishes and the Villainess trio is available now on Etsy for $18, or each polish is available individually for $7 each. Make sure to check her out on Facebook too!

I also wanted to announce the addition of 5 new racks coming to our Storenvy and Etsy shops SOON! We are SUPER excited about these and I can't wait to share them with you! We are extending our Roxy line to include larger racks, we're flipping a current rack on its side which will allow additional storage options (its not JUST for polish anymore!), and we're thinking 'small'! The first of the 5 new racks should hit the shops this week! Click below for our shop and keep an eye on our Facebook page for new additions!

Thank you all so much for your support! I know I've said it a bunch of times before, but Dan and I appreciate your business more than you could ever know. We enjoy creating these racks every day for you, and we LOVE when you show off your new rack on our FB page. We are so thrilled that you love them! You're awesome!

365 Days Of Color - Spring Has Sprung

I am SO excited to bring you all the first "pretty" in what is sure to be a fantastic collection from 365 Days of Color: 12 Months Of Color!

Each month for the next 12 months, Sunny at 365 Days of Color will release a limited edition polish that will only be available for that month. April's beauty is Spring Has Sprung!

Spring Has Sprung is a fun, blingy glitter topper with silver micro glitters, holo silver squares, and different sized light pink, hot pink and teal matte glitters. I swatched Spring Has Sprung over a variety of spring inspired colors (mostly pastels) and it looked fantastic over pretty much all of them. A+ for versatility! It also applied like a DREAM! No placement needed at all. All of the glitters stuck exactly where I brushed them, so A+ for formula too!

This is 1 coat of Spring Has Sprung over 2 coats of Sinful Colors 'Sugar Rush'

Spring Has Sprung will be available at 365daysofcolorpolishes.com on Friday, April 19th through Sunday, April 21st. 365 Days of Color restocks on the first and third Friday of each month.

And DO NOT forget to check out her unbelievable variety of cuticle balms, oils, and hand creams! I 100% recommend Sunny's Miracle Balm in Pink Sugar! The samplers are the perfect size for your purse, they smell amazing, are non-greasy, and are super nourishing for your cuticles. I was fortunate enough to receive a couple for Christmas and I am HOOKED!

You can find Sunny and '365DoC'...

"Light It Up BLUE" for Autism!

Today is the 6th annual World Autism Awareness Day!

As someone who's life is touched everyday by an autistic individual, today is an especially important reminder for me to slow down, be patient, accept, and educate myself. Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorder are the general umbrella terms for a number of 'complex disorders of brain development.'

According to AutismSpeaks.org...
These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors. They include autistic disorder, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS) and Asperger syndrome.

ASD can be associated with intellectual disability, difficulties in motor coordination and attention and physical health issues such as sleep and gastrointestinal disturbances. Some persons with ASD excel in visual skills, music, math and art.
So how or why might someone celebrate World Autism Awareness Day? Because the prevalence of autism has increased significantly over the last 40 years. It now affects 1 in 88 American children, and tens of millions of people worldwide. It is misunderstood, and when people don't know about something it is easy to fear it. Educate yourself and you'll never be uncertain again. AutismSpeaks.org is a wealth of information and a great place to start your quest in understanding autism.

There is a great story circulating around the web right now about a Chili's waitress and her interaction with a young girl 'on the spectrum' regarding her 'broken hamburger'. If you've not seen it, you should. The little girls reaction is heartwarming and priceless. You can see the original post on Facebook here.

For my BLUE mani, I chose NerdLacquer 'Shiny' which I was lucky enough to snag at her last restock. This is 3 coats of Shiny with no base coat, and 1 coat of Seche Vite.

You can find NerdLacquer on her website at www.nerdlacquer.com, at Harlow & Co, and NinjaPolish. But be quick! These puppies are very difficult to get your hands on. If you're one of the lucky few who catch a restock, Congrats! If you aren't...KEEP TRYING! They're so worth it!

OH! And before I forget, we're participating in a multi-blogger birthday giveaway over at My Nail Polish Is Poppin'! You can enter to win one of 6 faaaabulous prizes, including a Fox Claws Penny Stand!

Google took the ax to GFC on non-Blogger sites in 2011, so it just makes sense to migrate and consolidate followed blogs on a multi-platform, platform. Too Cute-icle - I'm Wearing Green!

Saint Patrick's Day is right around the corner! Woo!

I figured out this month that I have a serious problem with 'anticipation' buying. I can't tell you how many GREENS I picked up in anticipation of Saint Patrick's Day manis, but I can tell you that I own more than I could possibly use between Valentines Day and March 17th. Oh well...at least I'll be set for Christmas LOL!

Shamrocks (NOT 4-leaf cloves)...surprisingly easy...surprisingly difficult! I spent a great deal of time crouched over a nail wheel with my dotting tools trying to get the spacing for the leaves just right, all in all I am pretty pleased with it and have definitely found my St. Paddy's Day (Paddy not Patty LOL!) mani. I love it! Even the operations manager at work said, "Cool nails, man! My wife loves that stuff." Awesome.

This is 2 coats of Too Cute-icle's limited edition Saint Patrick's Day polish 'I'm Wearing Green', over Finger Paints 'Tough Art To Follow'. I added the rhinestones and immediately regretted it. 'I'm Wearing Green' is gorgeous on its own and didn't need at dressing up. The stars, I was pleased to find, did not require much fishing, but you better believe I top coated the shizz outta them...LOL! For the accent nails I used Chirality Nail Polish 'Katydid' (lime green scatter holo) and black on my swatch hand, and 'Katydid' and 'Tough Art To Follow' on my right hand.

(P.S. I am experimenting with my photos and watermarks to make them less intrusive. Let me know in the comments if you like the new look or not, or would prefer them not have borders and the logo. Thanks!)

Oh, almost forgot! Theres a new social media footprint website called HireInfluence. It's kind of like Klout and LinkedIn rolled into one. It's still in BETA so I don't have too much information yet, but I'll update more when I get some :) You can activate your profile at HireInfluence (http://bit.ly/hireinf). I activated mine with my twitter account in less than 3 minutes and found out I have a social media #strengthfactor of 31.2. If you activate your account by March 25th you'll be entered to win 1 of 3 $100 Amazon gift cards!

Some of the capabilities and highlights of the HireInfluence interface include:

  • Search – A search engine that gives businesses unprecedented search criteria options to strategically identify and leverage "Networking Superstars" in their target market or industry.
  • Proprietary Score – A "Strength Factor" score based on real influence, to include the level of impact the influencer has via each social channel, as well as real work experience within specific industries.
  • Social analyzing – A first-to-market aggregation and validation of the results, to include demographics of friends and followers, location of influence, key words used and engaged vs. fake followers, to name a few.
  • Star Rating – Each person's profile has a star rating given by other companies as well as rankings against other Networkers to "recruit with confidence."
  • Social Media Background Check - Printed profile for a sales or promotional employment opportunity.
